My early work in aviation and hospitals lead to my interest in cognitive and organizational psychology. I needed to understand: Why can well-trained highly motivated people make deadly errors? I wanted researched answers, not judgmental opinions. My ongoing studies and research in behavioral and cognitive psychology provide the basis for my professional life.
After too many years in too many universities (Australia, Canada, USA and Germany), I developed a full semester course and corporate workshop: “Applied Psychology for Technical Communicators”. Initially presented at the University of Massachusetts in 1986, I taught multiple variations of this course at several colleges, universities and corporations in North America, Asia, and Europe.
I research, consult and teach. Together with specialists in Houston Texas, our team currently conducts the first series of usability tests of operating procedures in a live operating petrochemical plant. Our emphasis continues to be on applied human behaviour research into designing user centered documentation. Together with my team I continue our active involvement with the World Usability Congress and our partners in Austria and Switzerland.
My team and I envision the day when no operators anywhere in the world have to perform a procedure that does not follow the principles of human cognition and behavior.

My CV says that I have been designing digital products for about 15 years now. My experience ranges from the fin-tech world and services to large public and private companies to e-commerce. In spite of this, I am far more than that. Design is my job and my passion at the same time. I like to write posts about the UX world on my blog (dopamino.com) and I’m also a “golden member” of one of the most renowned UX forums (http://community.uxmastery.com) and a news devourer when it comes to new technology applications (especially robotics).
I find it rather difficult to define the boundaries between my technical skills and my communication skills. I think that as a designer, these two aspects have to complement each other as much as possible. I can’t figure out how to design a product without understanding its underlying technology and without having the ability to effectively communicate the reason why I choose a specific design approach.
This is the main reason why, while leading a team of designers, I always strive to be operational at all stages of the product design process (from the early-stage to the product KPIs evaluation). In recent years, I have been very much focused on the evangelisation of the product design process within the companies I worked with. Indeed, I believe it is key to involve colleagues and customers towards the same topics to reach the desired goals. I have developed a product design process that relies on several methodologies such as User Centred Design, Mobile First and so on. I have noticed that by developing and sharing these tools, people involved in the delivering the product develop a higher sensitivity to the business needs. My personal approach to the product design is in line with the most common design methodologies, such as AGILE SCRUM and ITIL V3.

Peter Gregersen is a Danish UX Designer. He has conceptualized and designed mobile banking products since 2007, including award winning Danske Mobilbank (Denmark’s first native mobile bank) and MobilePay (the largest Nordic mobile payment solution).
He is currently working as Head of UX & Research at Spiir – a Nordic fintech company that uses new EU legislation to build innovative products on top of existing banks.

Russ Wilson joined Google as Director & Head of Design for Google Cloud Platform in March 2016. Russ Wilson joined Microsoft in December 2013 as a Partner Director and Head of Design for Business Intelligence, a collection of products and services that enable you to visualize data, share discoveries, and collaborate in intuitive new ways.
Prior to Microsoft, Russ was the founder and Director of IBM’s Mobile Innovation Lab. The mission of the lab is to identify disruptive mobile technologies and trends and transform them into new products and solutions that deliver significant value to individuals and companies.
Russ also served as the Head of Design for IBM’s Application and Integration Middleware business unit, providing design leadership for Websphere, MobileFirst, Pure, IoT, and SmarterProcess. As one of IBM’s new Design Executives, Russ helped to teach and evangelize design thinking throughout IBM, and influence a new era in software product development.
Prior to IBM, Russ was the worldwide Senior Vice President of User Experience at CA Technologies where he led the development of an enterprise-wide design language and a common application platform. Russ joined CA as part of the acquisition of NetQoS, where Russell was one of the original executives.
Russ is a serial entrepreneur, an experienced executive, and has proven success in both startups and large companies. His interests include approaches to innovation, user experience design, rapid prototyping, and team building.
