  • Products which require visual analysis to see the depth, dimension and relative space with the environment can be brought in VR. That's where we can leverage VR on E-commerce.
  • We have to break out of working only on 2D software. We also have to consider factors like environment and sound

  • Details

    In the last 1 n half years, we have been looking at how the shopping experience can be enhanced. That is we understood the potential AR/VR has to make a dent in the way we shop.
    Even when you’re armed with precise measurements, trying to imagine exactly how a stunning new product will look and fit a space is not an easy task. The presentation talks of the key pointers why VR will be the next big thing in shopping how to design to provide as immersive and collaborative shopping decisions sitting at home with Mixed and Augmented reality application.
    Area
    Augmenting shopping experiences – We have been exploring and developing some early stage prototype that an enhance customer shopping experience for some niche set or product categories. With the available smartphone or smartphone VR/AR device the customer has, they will able to experience this either from the comfort of their home or from a store. Layout visualizations: Visualizing layouts for optimal space management within stores and warehouses is another area that AR/VR can provide valuable experience.

    Sr. Architect - UX Design - Walmart Labs

    Dinoop Dayanand is an accomplished designer having more than 7 years experience in UX. Presently he is working as Sr Architect – UX design at Walmart Labs, India and is focusing on multiple products that span across Consumer and Enterprise applications. He has a keen interest in VR/AR and has been researching and exploring in the field so as to enhance the experience of shopping in the future.

    Prior to joining Walmart Labs, he was Sr. Interaction designer with Yahoo! where he had worked on multiple products like Small business, Finance, Games and Music, bringing them to a new platform and aligning them with the vision of the company.
