As one of the biggest shoe retailers in Europe, HUMANIC knows about the challenges when buying shoes: Shoe sizes are not standardized, kids can’t tell if the shoes fit, online purchase of shoes in the right size is difficult. Two years ago, we therefore started the HUMANIC AVATAR project. Together with our partners, we implemented 3D-scanning technology to measure the feet of our customers in store. We also measure the inner dimensions of every shoe model in all sizes in our warehouse. Via realtime matching we can recommend the customer the right size online and offline. With kids’ feet, we can even show parents how the foot will grow in the shoe for the next six months.
HUMANIC AVATAR is one of our omnichannel services. Our goal is to make such services fast, simple and sexy, but most of all relevant for the customer.
Dunja Bacinger Tomaschitz studied English and American Studies and Economics in Austria and Switzerland. Dunja started her career in advertising, where she spent a couple of years. Today, she is Managing Director for Marketing and Multichannel Retailing at HUMANIC as well as Head of Brand Communications at Leder&Schuh AG, the parent company. She is responsible for the development and the daily operations of all cross channel services of the Leder&Schuh brands such as HUMANIC, STIEFELKÖNIG or SHOE4YOU in Europe.
