Key Learnings

  • How designing and building with patterns can significantly improve your product
  • Principles and processes to work efficiently with patterns in large product organisations
  • How to build a modern and flexible pattern library

Details

During the last three years Wolf helped to design and improve the new shop platform for OTTO.de, Germany’s second largest e-commerce site. This platform was built completely from the ground up by several agile teams working at OTTO’s e-commerce division. To support design and development and to ensure a consistent user interface Wolf was tasked with the creation of a design pattern library. In this presentation he shares all the insights he has gathered on working with design patterns and on building and maintaining (and re-building!) a design pattern library in a large scale product organisation.
