With the (re-)discovery of connected devices and the urge of the industry to stuff cheap and affordable chips into almost everything that is not edible, we are facing a dilemma in the UX of these new appliances. In the “old” new world, we had a screen to look at, to touch or wo walk around with. But now, this screen is gone… or is it? How do we interact with an “intelligent” door, shoe, floor or roof?
