Team Leader Engineering / Avionics & Electrical System - Marenco Swisshelicopter AG

Ramanujam Kalale is an aerospace professional with more than 10 years of aviation industry  experience conversant with the full product life cycle for Civil Aerospace (fixed wing and rotorcraft) systems, completion programs with a broad experience in aircraft system definition, design, development, integration, ground testing, flight testing, safety analysis, system requirements capture, equipment design evaluation and selection, environmental qualification & testing and certification documentation.

 

Currently he is the Team Leader of the Avionics and Electrical Systems at Marenco Swiss Helicopter, responsible for the complete avionics and electrical systems on the SKYe SH09 helicopter with regards to:

  • Project and team management.
  • Development and integration of all avionic systems (PFD, MFD, air data computer, navigation and communication systems, various system sensors, aircraft wiring, power generation and distribution systems etc)
  • Testing and certification of the above systems on the helicopter
  • Drafting and review of all system requirements documents, system description engineering reports, ground and flight test documentation and certification assistance to the certification team.

 

Concurrently, he is also the Human Factors Lead Engineer, responsible for HF/HMI issues in the design of cockpit on the SKYe SH09 Single engine helicopter with the following responsibilities

  • Coordinator and lead engineer at the CAWG (Cockpit Assessment and Working Group)
  • On ground cockpit assessments with the chief pilot and EASA experts
  • Pilot work load assessments in normal and abnormal flight conditions
  • Ergonomy, reachability and visibility considerations in design and layout on the helicopter
