Key Learnings

  • The study delivers arguments why to invest in reliable customer research and recruiting of test participants.

While the term customer-centricity found its way into the digital strategy of many organisations, the roll-out of user centred methods is still a challenge for many of these companies. Especially, the regular access to reliable customer feedback is hard to realise. Therefore often compromises are made regarding the selection of test participants. I will present the results of an eCommerce study showing how different users perceive the website differently and stress the importance of a sufficient screening of participants.

Timo Sackmann works as a Design Thinking Coach across different organizations and industries. 

Timo started his professional carreer 10 years ago as User Researcher in R&D for Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. He built-up and headed the User Experience Center located in the Telekom Headquarters in Bonn. His academic background is Cognitive Science and Human-Computer-Interaction.
