Richard Featherstone is an experienced human factors and usability practitioner and is the founder of Medical Device Usability Ltd. He has thirty years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device and human factors industries. Richard advises some of the world’s largest medical device and pharmaceutical companies on their HF strategies, and works globally on summative and formative testing programmes. His area of interest is in the use of usability data to support product claims and health economics cases for new technologies, and he is joint author on a number of publications that report on the use of observational data to justify the clinical and cost effectiveness of new medical technologies. MDU is a human factors and usability consultancy that focuses exclusively on medical technologies such as medical devices and combination products. Based in Cambridge UK, MDU perform human factors and usability testing globally, including extensive experience in the US, Europe and Australia.
