Research Engineer (Human Factors), Jaguar Land Rover
Ben is Human Factors/ Usability Expert with vast experience in incar HMI and Digital systems UX. Ben currently works as a Specialist Researcher in the Human Machine Interface Group in Jaguar Land Rover looking in Driver Vehicle Interactions, Technologies and Simulations. He has led many Technology Strategy Projects in the Global Dealer Operations space in Jaguar Land Rover, before joining the Research Team. Ben has been active in the area of research into Vehicle Technologies with focus on Human-Machine Interaction, Usability & User Experience, User-Centred Design, Cognitive Ergonomics and Psychological aspects of Design. Recent achievements include delivering the HMI strategy for major HMI projects like Multimodal User Interfaces Research, intelligent in car communication and Advanced User Input techniques. He is also currently leading key work packages with the Human Centred Design Institute at the Brunel University in a collaborative research project. He has a degree in Physics& Applied Physics, MSc in Computer Science (Specialising in HCI) and ongoin PhD in Human Factors at the University of Nottingham.
Outside of work, Ben is a NLP Master Practitioner & Hypnotherapist. He is also a passionate Classical Musician.
