The Value of UX

The Value of UX with Verena Seibert

With over 30 years of experience in UX psychology, Verena Seibert-Giller highlights that the core value of UX lies in its power to differentiate good products and companies from bad ones. Organizations that invest in UX—whether for customer-facing products or internal tools—gain a competitive edge. They attract better talent, especially younger generations who expect seamless, thoughtful digital experiences both as users and employees.

She emphasizes that UX is no longer limited to products—it applies across the board to services, public transportation, banking, and any system people interact with. Every interaction creates an experience, and that experience directly shapes perceptions, satisfaction, and success.

Finally, Verena warns against relying on effort alone. Great UX doesn’t happen by accident or simply by trying hard—it requires well-trained professionals with real UX education. Whether it’s in interface design, UX research, or product strategy, businesses need skilled experts to ensure real user value.

CEO UX Psychology

As the Managing Owner of UX Psychology e.U., with three decades of experience in usability and user experience, my focus has been on enabling global industries to develop strategies and solutions rooted in behavioral and cognitive science. By leveraging a PhD in Psychology, I partner with clients to address complex behavior-related challenges, ensuring that human-centered design principles are at the forefront of every initiative.

I am also the Chief Science Officer of CATi, the Canadian company that created the award-winning UsabilityMapping® method for UX engineering documents by incorporating applied psychology. Here, I support various industries to increase work safety and efficiency.

In 2022, I published the UX Psychology Lens® (www.uxpsychologylens.com), a tool that comprises a set of cards and a book that provides hands-on, actionable insights on 50 psychological influences in UX activities. I designed and iterated this tool set over 1.5 years, using user-centered methods and involving future users at every step of the way. The tool set has been very well received by the UX community, is sold worldwide (in English and German), and has been featured in several publications and podcasts.

I love to inspire people and showcase the impact of psychology in technology and business. I do this in various ways
– The Business & Psychology Podcast with my wonderful Co-host Martin Wolf.
– The UX & Psychology meetup group with my great co-host (and founder of this meetup) Mark Drexler.
– Keynotes at international conferences and events.
– Lectures at Universities.

Also, I contribute to the development of standardized certifications for UX professionals and products as a Board Member and Master-trainer of the UXQCC (User Experience Qualification Certification Center
